ROMA is approximately 2.7 - 3.0mm thick. It is a laminate of expanded pvc and a synthetic felt backing. It is designed to protect modern tabletops from stains and heat. The material itself will withstand up to 1000C and it will protect up to 800C. Never place plates direct from the oven, hob or microwave onto the table protector. Always use a table mat if unsure. It is not recommended for french cellulose lacquers that can mark at wet temperatures under 400 C
